Beau Salyer picked a perfect setting to accomplish a career milestone Friday.
The Bellefontaine bowler fired his first 300 game during the Central Buckeye Conference tournament and he helped the Chieftain boys to a first-place finish at Madison Lanes.
Salyer was locked in all day. In addition to his 300, he rolled games of 222 and 224 for a career-best series of 746.
The Chiefs turned in a stellar final team tally of 3,840 to win the tourney title.
In addition to the exploits of Salyer, Caleb Gonterman posted games of 186, 213 and 179 for a 578 series and Drake Argabright recorded games of 218, 174 and 160 for a 552 series.
Bellefontaine fared very well during the baker games with scores of 220, 185, 177, 190 and 212.
“I was so proud of how the boys would pick each other up,” said BHS boys bowling coach Tammy Overholser. “The had fun and rolled very well.”
The Chiefs will be back in action in the sectional tournament Feb. 18 at Poelking Lanes in Dayton.
