Michael A. Fisher, 32, address unavailable, was charged with possession of drugs, possession of drug abuse instruments, tampering with evidence, counterfeiting and public intoxication following an incident Sunday evening at the Village Laundry, 448 E. Main St., Russells Point.
Officers of the Russells Point Police Department were dispatched to the laundromat in reference to a suspicious person. Officers arrived and noted one person inside, but realized the individual was locked in the restroom.
After a short period of time, a man identified as Fisher agreed to come out. When Mr. Fisher exited, officers observed that he was sweating profusely and the floor was covered in water and ice.
The defendant appeared to be under the influence of drugs and officers observed drug paraphernalia in his possession. Fisher was detained and Washington Township’s K-9 was requested.
Bruno alerted to the vehicle Mr. Fisher was driving, as well as other items left inside the laundromat. Shortly thereafter, officers noticed Mr. Fisher’s eyes roll back in his head and he stated he did not feel well. He began to lose consciousness, so officers called a squad and administered a dose of Narcan.
Fisher was released to Indian Lake EMS and transported to Mary Rutan without incident, officers said.
Additional suspected drugs and drug paraphernalia, including a needle, were found in the vehicle and the laundromat. A wallet with Mr. Fisher’s ID was located and counterfeit money was found inside, mixed with real cash.
Additionally, the identification, credit cards and checks belonging to two separate individuals were found with Fisher’s belongings.
Deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office assisted by locating one of the owners. Upon doing so, some of the property was confirmed stolen.
Fisher was arrested after being treated and released by the hospital. He was taken to the Logan County Jail.
While en route to the jail, the defendant attempted to conceal a syringe, apparently hidden on his body, in the cruiser.
Additionally, Mr. Fisher was served an outstanding felony warrant on charges from the Bellefontaine Police Department.
