Fansler sisters make debut in Hollywood motion picture
A local family got its first real taste of Hollywood this week during the red carpet release of a major motion picture that features the siblings.
While 8-year-old Courtney Fansler was the daughter who landed the more prominent role in the movie Miracles from Heaven, 12-year-old Kylie Fansler is also in the film that will be released nationwide Wednesday.
The girls are the daughters of Steve and Jeannie Fansler of the rural West Liberty area. Kylie attends Benjamin Logan Schools while Courtney is enrolled at West Liberty-Salem.
The movie, based on a true story, details Christy and Kevin Beam family’s struggles after learning their middle daughter Anna has a rare, incurable disease. After an accident, however, a miracle unfolds that leaves medical specialists mystified, her family restored and their community inspired.
It was shot in Atlanta over about two months in the summer of 2015, Mrs. Fansler said.
