Robert L. Stratton, 91, of Zanesfield, went to be with our Savior on Friday, Jan. 1, 2016, at Green Hills Retirement Community, West Liberty, with his family by his side.
He was born Oct. 10, 1924, in Middleburg, a son of the late Glen and Mabel Garrison Stratton.
Survivors include his wife of 71 years, Constance Wilson Stratton; daughter, Linda (Don) Stevenson; sons, Melvin (Nancy) Stratton, Richard (Carson) Stratton, Thomas (Dawn) Stratton and Timothy (Teresa) Stratton; 17 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; and several stepgrandchildren.
Robert was a 1943 graduate of Middleburg High School, and a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He retired from Siemens with 26 years of service as a machinist; and worked with AP Technoglass for 20 years in his own machine shop. Robert also was very involved in farming, and attended McKees Creek Church, West Liberty.
Robert loved spending time with his family and held them all close in his heart.
Pastor Floyd Lundy officiates a funeral at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 6, at Jennings Farley Funeral Home & Crematory, West Liberty, where visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 5. Burial is in the Middleburg Cemetery.
