Robert D. “Grumpy” Grumbling, Sr., 61, of Russells Point, passed away Monday, August 23, 2021, at Mary Rutan Emergency Department, Bellefontaine.
Robert was born on July 1, 1960, in Cleveland, a son of the late Raymond Grumbling and Alice Dickerson Hayes. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Ron Grumbling and Richard Grumbling.
On June 1, 1991, Bob married Brenda Herring in Lakeview, and she survives. He is also survived by Six Children, Robert (Megan) Grumbling, Jr. of Bellefontaine, Michael (Stephanie) Grumbling of West Union, Richard (Tanay) Grumbling of Huntsville, Melissa (Mike) Spires of Russells Point, Jamie (Jim) Marshall of Lakeview, and Nicole (Dustin) Stringfellow of Santa Fe, Ohio, 20 grandchildren, Drew, AJ, Brayden, Sophia, Serenity, Xavier, Garrett, Ayden, Kimberly, Chloe, Shellie, Thomas, Donnie, Kaitlyn, Alexis, RJ. Heidi, Joey, Tyler, and Jareth, Three Siblings, Beth Tweed of Lancaster, CA, Ruth Skrletts of Wesley Chapel, FL, and Raymond “Dan” Grumbling of Powell.
Bob was a skilled carpenter for over 30 years. He was a 1978 graduate of Indian Lake High School and attended Ohio Hi-Point JVS. Bob enjoyed puzzles, woodworking, fishing, watching classic TV shows and Thanksgiving dinners with his family. He loved special times with his family, and being with his children, grandchildren, and his dog, Max.
A celebration of Bob’s life will be 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 27, at Shoffstall Funeral Home, 205 S. Main St., Lakeview with visitation from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Burial will be in Huntsville Cemetery.
