Ohio Hi-Point Career Center/Riverside Business Professionals of American students, from the left, Courtney Roach, Kara Kauffman, Chase Davidson, Andrea Burden and Audrey Kopus were recently elected to the BPA Region 16 executive board to represent more than 500 career technical students enrolled in the program throughout the region.
With their recent election to the six-member board, only one executive board member is not a Riverside student. OHPCC/Riverside advisers Michelle Weadock and Lindsay Wyan shared that they were exceptionally proud of their students for having the initiative to run for an office during these uncertain times. “These five OHPCC/Riverside students are accomplished as individual members and competitors as well as team members in the BPA organization. These BPA leaders, ranging from sophomores to seniors, will not only handle the regular duties their individual position requires, but will be taxed to find new and virtual ways to make connections with their peers across the region. The executive board is charged with planning and creating regional activities, and running the awards ceremony, where students are recognized for their months’ of work and the opportunity for a select few to advance to state competitions.
