Riverside’s volleyball team wore down visiting Arcanum for a three-set win 25-12, 25-23, 25-12 on Tuesday in non-league play.
The Pirates extend their record to 9-1 on the season, while the Trojans fall to 4-4.
Jenna Woods powered Riverside with 10 kills and seven blocks, Lauryn Sanford tallied six kills, nine assists and 12 digs, Olivia Perk had seven kills and seven digs, Jade Copas had six kills, Sierra Snow dished out eight assists, Allison Knight had nine digs and Hailee Harshbarger added five digs.
In junior varsity action, Riverside rallied to beat Arcanum 19-25, 25-23, 25-22.
Macie Manahan led the Pirates with five kills, Trinity Notestine had 10 assists and Grace Brownlee led the team in passing.
Riverside is back on the court Thursday at home against Lima Temple Christian for a Northwest Central Conference match.
Lakers lose to Falcons
Indian Lake’s volleyball team couldn’t get on track against visiting Graham Tuesday as the Falcons rolled to a three-set win 25-8, 25-12, 25-14 in Central Buckeye Conference action.
The Lakers slid to 2-7 overall and 1-2 in the CBC Mad River, while the Falcons bump their mark to 6-2, 3-0.
Kendall Cotterman led Indian Lake’s efforts with four kills, two aces and was 10-11 serving. Allexxie West added five kills and Callie Notestine was 38-39 setting.
Graham also won the junior varsity math 20-25, 25-15, 25-15.
For the Lakers, Madison Brentlinger had eight kills, was 15-17 hitting and 14-15 serve receive, while Katie Roby had 10 assists and was 35-35 setting.
Indian Lake travels to Urbana on Thursday for CBC action.
Calvary slips past East Dayton
Calvary Christian’s volleyball team battled past East Dayton Christian 25-23, 25-22, 25-19 for a three-set victory.
The Spartans improve to 6-4 on the season.
Abby Jenkins sparked Calvary with 15 points, nine kills and two digs, Lillian Zamora had 16 points, Erin Young had six blocks and two assists, Emma Patton tallied 15 assists and Elisha Carter led the passing average.
Calvary also won the junior varsity match 25-12, 23-25, 25-6 and improve to 6-1 on the season.
Taylor Russell led the Spartans with 25 points and 14 aces, Julie Childers had two digs and four kills, Madelyn Trittschuh and Ruby Slemmons each had three assists.
Calvary Christian travels to Triad on Saturday.
Triad falls to Greeneview
Triad’s volleyball team fell to Greeneview in straight sets on 25-7, 25-7, 25-8 on Tuesday during an Ohio Heritage Conference match.
The Cardinals fall to 1-8 on the season and 0-6 in the OHC, while the Rams improve to 5-2, 5-1.
Triad travels to Cedarville on Thursday for more OHC play.
