Riverside’s girls basketball team looked polished in its season opener Friday after racing past host Northeastern 58-13.
The Pirates shut out the Jets 19-0 in the opening quarter. They outscored Northeastern 19-11 in the second quarter to build a 38-13 halftime advantage.
Riverside extended its lead in the third quarter with a 13-2 run, which made it a 51-13 score.
The Pirates closed out the win with a 7-0 effort tin the final quarter.
Lauryn Sanford powered Riverside’s offense with 17 points, Jade Copas tallied 12 points, Kirstin Schlumbohm had 11 points and Allison Knight added seven points.
In junior varsity action, Riverside dominated Northeastern 42-4. Kaelan Copas led the Pirates with 10 points and Keianna Notestine added eight points.
Riverside travels to Hardin Northern on Tuesday.
