Riverside’s volleyball team knocked off Troy Christian 25-20, 25-22, 30-28 in non-league action Saturday.
The win improves the Pirates to 4-0 on the season.
Jenna Woods sparked the Pirates with 16 kills, three blocks and nine digs, Lauryn Sanford had 16 assists, seven digs, five kills and six blocks, Sierra Snow had 10 digs and six assists, Hailee Harshbarger had nine digs, Allison Knight tallied seven digs and Olivia Perk added five kills and three blocks.
Riverside’s junior varsity team won 25-16, 13-25, 25-8. Trinity Notestine had 12 assists, Daisy Armbruster tallied seven kills and Macie Manahan recorded 10 aces to fuel the Pirates’ win.
Riverside is back in action Tuesday at Fairlawn.
Indian Lake derailed by Fairlawn
Indian Lake’s volleyball team was defeated by Fairlawn in straight sets Saturday.
The Jets won by scores of 25-9, 25-16, 25-15.
For the Lakers, Kendall Cotterman was 14-15 serving and 7-9 hitting with two kills, Gracie Taylor was 19-25 hitting with six kills, Callie Notestine notched 10 assists, Shania Fruchey tallied four kills and Allix Cotterman was 15-16 on serves received with 11 digs.
Fairlawn won the JV match 21-25, 25-10, 25-15. For IL, Katie Roby was 53-55 setting with 12 assists and Madison Brentlinger had eight kills.
The Lakers are now 1-2 on the season and they are back in action tonight at home against Houston.
BL Gold team tops Bellefontaine
Benjamin Logan’s junior varsity Gold team defeated Bellefontaine’s freshman team 25-17, 25-13 on Saturday.
For the Raiders, Lexi Sutherly tallied four kills, two assists, six digs, seven points and four aces, Junette Ly had 10 aces, two kills and four digs, Madelyn Harmon had five aces and eight assists, Alex Algire recorded three kills and four aces and Lauren Hemelgarn had three kills.
For Bellefontaine, Ashton Carey and Ashlyn Akers lethe serving and Payton Campbell had a strong defensive match.
