Ridgemont Board of Education members extended Superintendent Sally Henrick a three-year contract during their Thursday evening board meeting.
Her new contract begins Aug. 1, 2021, and continues through July 31, 2024, for an annual rate of $100,695.
With the recent winter weather and resulting school cancellations, delays and remote learning days, the superintendent also expressed her thanks to district families for their patience and cooperation.
“We are looking forward to spring and enjoying the warmer weather,” she said. “It is hard to believe we only have three more months to complete this school year and send our seniors into the world to do amazing things.”
The board also extended their congratulations to the girls varsity basketball team for being NWCC Co-Champions, and the seventh-grade boys basketball team and seventh-grade girls basketball team for being NWCC runners-up.
Individual NWCC League Honors also were awarded to: First Team — Landon Newland, Brooke Nelson, Amanda Howland; Second Team — Mason Stuck, Callie Cromer; and Honorable Mention — Jayden Streets, Austin Elsasser, Hannah Shoffner, Emma Smith.
In operational matters, the board approved a motion to advertise and receive bids for the purchase of one transit school bus through META Solutions.
A College Credit Plus Agreements were approved with Bowling Green State University and Clark State Community College for the 2021-22 school year. A motion also was approved for the Third Grade Assessment testing format for the 2021-2022 school year.
For upcoming school calendar events, there is no school Thursday, March 25, for grades pre-K through six for parent-teacher conferences. Job shadowing takes place that day for grades seven through 12. There also is no school Friday, March 26.
In other action, the board:
• extended the following supplemental contracts for the 2020-21 spring season: Todd Hollinger, assistant baseball; and Nikia Rudasill, assistant softball;
• approved the following volunteer coaches: Bill McKinley, assistant baseball; and Chad Rudasill, assistant volunteer softball;
• approved the athletic department helpers for payment for hosting an OHSAA tournament;
• approved the amounts and rates, as determined by the Budget Commission in its certification with the Hardin County Auditor.
• expressed appreciation to the following donors: donation of face masks by Kenton City, State Representative Jon Cross and Home Depot; donation to the nurse’s clinic for students in need, by Taylor’s Way in Memory of Taylor Carder, Ridgeway United Methodist Church and Dustin and Keri Robinson; snow removal by Corey Ledley and Kevin Wingfield; and anonymous donation to the athletic department.
The next meeting is 5 p.m. Thursday, March 25.
