Approximately 30 teachers and administrators from Central Ohio schools, including Dublin City, Upper Arlington, Wellington and Columbus City Schools, visited the new Ridgemont Local Schools facility in Mt. Victory as part of the Service Learning Network of Ohio’s quarterly meeting Friday.
The group toured the building to look at the physical design and learn how the district’s strategies surrounding student engagement — service learning, project based learning, co-teaching, differentiation, subject integration and technology integration — have been built into everyday practices.
Small group tours were led by Superintendent Emmy Beeson and students Nicole Sutherland, Shaye Creamer and Alex Ramsey. Ridgemont teachers Nicole Stuck, Justin Metzger, Zach Balch and Stephanie Jolliff shared how professional development, hiring practices, and common planning time have changed both their work experience and the student experience.
