Ridgemont’s boys and girls track and field teams both finished fourth Saturday at the Northwest Central Conference meet held at Hardin Northern High School.
Lima Perry won the boys eight-team meet with 123.5 points, Hardin Northern was second with 93 points, Waynesfield-Goshen was third with 81.5 points and the Gophers were fourth with 76 points. Riverside finished eighth with 10 points.
The girls nine-team meet saw Lehman Catholic battle past W-Goshen 144-132 to claim the league title. Elgin came in third with 74 points and Ridgemont took fourth with 56 points. The Pirates finished eighth with eight points.
Jeb Patterson anchored Ridgemont’s boys by winning an individual NWCC title in the 300 hurdles (43.08), placing third in the 100 (11.7) and taking fourth in the 110 hurdles (17.7).
Also winning an individual NWCC title was Weston McKinley in the shot put (41-11.5), while runner-up finishes came from Michael Dilbone in the discus (138-11) and the 400 relay (47.1).
Placing third for the Gophers were McKinley in the high jump (5-6) and Dominic Newland in the pole vault (10-0) with fourth-place finishes coming from Clayton Patterson in the 100 (12.02), Ashton Mullins in the high jump (5-0) and Dilbone in the pole vault (9-0).
Adding fifth-place finishes were Clayton Patterson in the long jump (17-5.75) and the 800 relay (1:43.6). Taking sixth were Dilbone in the 400 (56.7), Clayton Patterson in the 300 hurdles (47.1) and the 1,600 relay (3:59.2).
Amanda Howland fueled Ridgemont’s girls by winning individual NWCC titles in the shot put (32-6.5), discus (102-0) and pole vault (9-0). Callie Cromer also helped carry the team by placing second in the 100 hurdles (17.1) and taking third in the pole vault (8-0) and 100 (13.4).
Taking fifth for the Gophers were Cloei Marling in the 300 hurdles (1:01.8) and the 800 relay (1:59.2), while sixth-place finishes came from the 400 relay (1:03.2) and 1,600 relay (5:30.3).
Riverside’s boys saw Ethan Burrows place fourth in the discus (113-0) and sixth in the shot put (36-3.5), while other sixth-place efforts came from the 400 relay (51.2), 800 relay (1:46.9) and 3,200 relay (10:04.8).
The Pirate girls had two fourth-place finishes which came from Rachel Knight in the 400 (1:07.4) and Cassie May in the high jump (4-6).
