Ridgemont Board of Education members convened for a work session following their regular meeting Thursday evening during an informational session regarding how to use the new BoardDocs system for future board agendas and minutes.
Board policies are already in BoardDocs and the link is available through the school’s website, www.ridgemont.k12.oh.us, under “Board of Education” and “Ridgemont Local School District Bylaws and Policies.”
In personnel matters, the board accepted the resignation of J.D. Dawson, STEM instructor, effective at the end of the 2019-20 school year.
In the maintenance department, Jo Warner was approved for more hours to her workday and Dee Danieu was hired.
For the 2020-2021 school year, the High School Course Description Handbook and the purchase of Chromebooks for seventh-, eighth- and nine-grade was approved.
An additional student was approved for the Europe trip in June.
The district also operates on a two-hour delay Tuesday, March 3, for teacher professional development.
Students in grades pre-K through six will not have school Friday, March 27, for parent-teacher conferences from 8 to 11:30 a.m. In addition, students in grades seven through 12 will participate in job shadowing March 27.
Monday, March 30, there will be no school for teacher professional development, and the district’s Easter break is from April 9 through 13.
Ridgemont operates on a two-hour delay May 5 for teacher professional development, and kindergarten screening is May 14 and 15.
In other action, the board:
• approved Todd Hollinger as a volunteer baseball coach;
• approved tutors for the Third Grade Guarantee;
• approved membership in the Ohio High School Athletic Association for the 2020-21 school year; and
• accepted and thanked the following donors: Dane and Erin Jeffers for two doors for Doors of EnCOURAGEment for the high school art department, Ridgeway Church of God and Hardin County United Way’s donation of hats and gloves.
The next meeting is 5 p.m. March 26, at the school conference room.
