Richard Orman Hamilton, 78, of West Liberty passed away at 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 6, 2020 in Green Hills Care Center, West Liberty.
He was born in Nelsonville, Ohio (Athens County) on Aug. 14, 1942, the son of the late Virgil and Alice (Courtney) Hamilton. He was also preceded in death by two sisters, three brothers, and two infant siblings.
On Oct. 29, 1967, he married Rebecca Louise “Becky” (Broshes) Hamilton at the United Methodist Church in West Liberty, and she survives.
He is also survived by two daughters, Cherie (Virgil) Squires and Jenny (Chad) Heater, both of West Liberty, five grandchildren; Brandy (William) Young, Colin DeLong, David (Alexis) Young, Michelle (William) Young, and Leah Borst, five great grandchildren; Isaac, David, Dax, Becca, Ivy, and one on the way, and a half sister, Cindy Hamilton and many nieces and nephews.
Richard worked as a factory worker for 30+ years. He enjoyed playing baseball, bowling, hunting, fishing, and camping. He enjoyed being around his family, especially his grandchildren. He also loved his church and music and loved to sing church hymns.
A private graveside service will be conducted in Fairview Cemetery, West Liberty.
