Cater Rees hit a two-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to help send Benjamin Logan past host Bellefontaine 6-4 in nine innings Friday during a local Central Buckeye Conference crossover thriller at Blue Jacket Park.
The Raiders remain undefeated at 4-0 overall and start 1-0 in CBC play. The Chiefs fall to 1-2, 0-1.
Ben Logan jumped on top of Bellefontaine early with two runs in the first inning and one run in the third inning for a 3-0 lead.
The Chiefs were able to tie the game with three runs in the fifth inning off a three-run double by Alex Caudill.
Ben Logan took back the lead in the top of the seventh inning with a home run by Kanain Stoner to go up 4-3.
Bellefontaine answered in the bottom of the seventh when Caudill hit an RBI single to score Jaeden Campbell and tie the game 4-4.
After a scoreless eighth inning, the Raiders’ Carter Rees connected for a two-run home run that also scored Stoner. That put Ben Logan back on top 6-4.
The Chiefs were unable to get any offense going in the bottom of the ninth and allowed the Raiders to come away with the victory.
Stoner led Ben Logan’s offense going 3-5 with his home run and three RBI, Rees went 3-5 with a home run and two RBI, Austin McGowan hit a double and Kade Arn added an RBI.
Rees also picked up the win on the mound. He went two and two-thirds innings with three strikeouts. Blake Peterson went four innings with six strikeouts and McGowan added two strikeouts.
For Bellefontaine, Caudill finished 3-5 with a double and four RBI, while Cole Comstock, Alex Pulfer, Keyon Collier all had hits.
Ben Logan hosts West Liberty-Salem today, while Bellefontaine hosts Lima Bath.

Lakers sink Red Raiders
Indian Lake’s baseball team pulled away from host London to grab a 9-4 win Friday in Central Buckeye Conference crossover action.
The Lakers stay unbeaten at 4-0 on the season and are 1-0 in the CBC, while the Red Raiders fall to 1-2, 0-1.
Indian Lake led 2-1 after the first inning, but pulled away with four runs in the third inning for a 6-1 advantage.
The Lakers were able to add three more runs in the fifth inning to build a 9-1 cushion.
The Red Raiders managed to plate three runs in the bottom of the seventh, but couldn’t get any closer.
Offensively for the Lakers, Trenton Fulkerson went 2-4 with a double and an RBI, Lane Mefford had two RBI and Logan Evans added one RBI.
Isaac Roby went four innings to record the win and had four strikeouts.
Indian Lake hosts Anna and Sidney today in a non-league action.

WL-Salem edges Fairbanks
West Liberty-Salem’s baseball team scored late to pull out a 2-0 win over visiting Fairbanks on Friday in Ohio Heritage Conference action.
The Tigers are now 1-1 on the season and 1-0 in the OHC North division.
Neither team could score through the first four innings. WL-Salem’s offense finally broke through with a run in the fifth innings and added another run in the sixth inning for a 2-0 lead. Fairbanks was unable to respond in the top of the seventh.
For the Tigers, Will Motzko and Isaac Reames recored the team’s only hits.
Christian Griffith pitched a complete game for WL-Salem to pick up the win on the mound with six strikeouts.
Ben Logan travels to Benjamin Logan today for a non-league game.
