Triad’s girls basketball team ran into a buzz saw against visiting Greenon on Thursday as the Knights overwhelmed the Cardinals 81-23 in Ohio Heritage Conference action.
The Cardinals drop their record to 2-14 overall and 2-10 in the OHC North division. The Knights improve to 12-4 and lead the OHC South at 10-2.
Greenon jumped ahead 23-8 after the opening quarter. The Knights went on a 21-6 run in the second quarter to build a 44-14 halftime advantage.
The Knights continued to dominate the second half, outscoring the Cardinals 37-9 over the final two quarters.
Frani LeVan highlighted Triad’s offense with 13 points and four rebounds. Olivia Butz chipped in three points with six rebounds and Abby Walls had three points and four rebounds.
Triad travels to West Liberty-Salem on Saturday for a local OHC contest.
