Ralph William Ramsey, age 92, of Marysville, peacefully went to be with his Lord and Savior, Thursday, May 19, 2022 at Walnut Crossing Assisted Living.
He was a retired 30-year associate of Wilco Manufacturing in Kenton where he served as foreman. A 1947 graduate of Ridgeway High School, he worked at the Ridgeway Grain Elevator as a young man and also worked on the family farm. He was a longtime member of New California Presbyterian Church, where he served as Elder and Deacon.
A member of Windsor and Community Seniors, he sang with the Windsor Singers. Ralph was a lifetime member of Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 2166 in Bellefontaine.
He and his wife, Lucille, were “snowbirds” in Frostproof, Florida, and members of a camping club in central Ohio. Above all, he was a deeply devoted family man and cherished his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and their activities.
He was born August 26, 1929 in Ridgeway, Ohio to the late Bird and Maude Doan Ramsey. The last of his eleven brothers and sisters, he was also preceded in death by a daughter, Susan Reasoner; a grandson, Joseph McKay; and a granddaughter, Sherri Hicks.
He is survived by his wife of almost 50 years, Lucille Reichert Edwards Ramsey, whom he married March 3, 1973; his children, Steven (Kim) Ramsey of West Liberty, Vivian (Mark) Brewer of Mt. Victory, Robert “Bob” Edwards of Marysville, Janet Peterson of Marysville, Jeffrey (Kimi) Ramsey of Bellefontaine and Michael (Penny) Ramsey of Bellefontaine; his son-in-law, Dana Reasoner of Carroll; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 26, at New California Presbyterian Church, where the family will receive friends beginning at 10 a.m. Rev. Earl Dunbar and Rev. Dr. Bob Bowers will officiate and graveside services will follow at 2:30 p.m. at Ridgeway Cemetery.
