Benjamin Logan’s boys soccer team had a record-breaking season this fall. The Raiders won the Central Buckeye Conference Mad River division for first time, recorded the most wins in program history, the most shutouts in a season and made the program’s first appearance in the district final.
That success was reflected on the all-league squad as the Raiders saw nine players earn honors including the Mad River division player of the year with Michael Rostorfer.
Earning spots on the Mad River division first team were Ben Logans’ Rostorfer, Trey Allen, Caleb Epp and Keaghan Stahler, while Indian Lake had Darrick Curtis and Reid Vance.
Second-team selections went to the Raiders’ Tylor Cabot, Jonas Hoffman, Breshon Jacobs and Kelvin Ong and the Lakers’ Caiden Gauntt and Gabe Shepherd.
Receiving special mention for Ben Logan were Blaine Worden and Indian Lake’s Derek Cline.
Bellefontaine had two first-team picks in the Kenton Trail with Ryan Johnson and Dakota Shell. Teammates Beau Salyer and Max Varner were named to the second-team squad. The Chiefs’ Ryan Carman earned special mention.
Local players receiving the sportsmanship award were Ben Logan’s Gavin Gibson, Indian Lake’s Brayden Flesher and Bellefontaine’s Donavan George.
Shawnee won the Kenton Trail title and saw Eben Dewhurt voted as the division’s player of the year.
Rounding out the rest of the Mad River first-team selections were Northwestern’s Bryant Burton, Spencer Fuschino and Brenden Wildman, Urbana’s Atticus Bloemhard, Graham’s Riley Dunham and Kurt Rembold.
Others named to the Mad River second team were Northwestern’s Trey Beard, Ryan Harrington and Mason MacGillivray, Urbana’s Oliver Grim and Otto Johnson and Graham’s Nathan Ryman.
The special mention list also included Graham’s Jacob Goldsberry, Urbana’s Riley Johnson and Northwestern’s Caden McGill.
Making up the rest of the Kenton Trail first team were Shawnee’s Dewhurst and Dameon McElroy, Tecumseh’s Jose Alvarado and Parker Randenburg, London’s Joseph Davis and Ashton Wolford, Kenton Ridge’s Brandon Gibson and Justin Maurer and Jonathan Alder’s Camden Herring and Alan Santos.
Also on the KT second-team squad were Shawnee’s Owen Weller and Aiden Willis, Jonathan Alder’s Noah Allen and Matthew Schertzer, Tecumseh’s Alan Cruz and Christian Martinez, Kenton Ridge’s Xane Grigsby and Kellen Kronour and London’s Josh Herrli and Will Stucke.
Other special mention picks in the Kenton Trail were London’s Nick Jackson, Tecumseh’s Cruz Munoz, Shawnee’s Adam Myers, Kenton Ridge’s Tanner Slagle and Jonathan Alder’s Dominic Toler.
