Benjamin Logan’s boys basketball team had no trouble finding the basket Saturday as it dominated Ponitz 72-50 in a Division II sectional tournament opener at Kettering’s Trent Arena.
The 11th-seeded Raiders (14-8) advance to play fifth-seeded Chaminade-Julienne on Wednesday at 8 p.m. in a sectional semifinal at Trent Arena.
On Saturday, Ben Logan came out firing on all cylinders in the first quarter to take a 20-10 lead. The Raiders stayed hot in the second quarter with a 17-9 run, which increased their lead to a 37-19 halftime score.
Ben Logan was two points better (15-13) in the third quarter, giving itself a 52-32 cushion. The Raiders capped the scoring in the fourth quarter with a 20-18 effort and sealed the win.
Keaghan Stahler fueled the Raiders with 20 points, including six three pointers, Kaden Arn piled up 17 points, Mitch Vance had 12 points and Davontae Fahle added 11 points.
