Kyah Moore delivered a no-hitter from the pitching circle to help Benjamin Logan’s softball team to a commanding 10-0 win in five innings over host New Bremen in the season opener Saturday.
Moore finished with eight strikeouts and no walks while the BL defense did not give up an error.
Moore also had a good day at the plate, going 3-3 with two RBI.
Ben Logan took control of the game with three runs in the third inning for an early lead. The Raiders added one run in the fourth inning and then piled on six more runs in the fifth inning to build a 10-0 advantage.
Also for the Raiders’ offense, Rhea Harner had a double with two RBI, Jillian Plikerd and Mackenzie Peterson each had a double with one RBI and Kylie Frazier and Gretchen Wilber both added one RBI.
Ben Logan hosts Southeastern today in a non-league game.

Lakers down Blanchester, fall to Western Brown
Indian Lake’s softball team dropped Blanchester 15-9 and then fell to host Western Brown 12-2 in six innings Saturday during a three-team event to start the season.
The Lakers begin the season with a 1-1 record.
Indian Lake’s offense caught fire against Blanchester with 18 hits.
For the Lakers, Claire Young went 2-5 with two doubles and three RBI, Kyleigh Huffer went 3-5 with a triple and one RBI, Haylee Edwards went 3-5 with an RBI, Kendall Cotterman went 3-5, Lexi Jones went 2-4 with a double and two RBI, Macie Robinson went 2-3 with a double and an RBI, Hailey Talbot went 2-4 with three RBI, Paige Kindle Wyn hit a triple with an RBI and Allix Cotterman added an RBI.
Jones was the winning pitcher with five strikeouts.
Against Western Brown, Jones and Katie Roby both had one double with an RBI for the Lakers.
Indian Lake travels to New Bremen today for a non-league game.

Triad falls to Sidney, Milton-Union
Triad’s softball team opened the season by falling to Sidney 3-2 and losing to host Milton-Union 10-0 in five innings Saturday during a three-team meet.
The Cardinals start the season off at 0-2.
Triad’s Joni Russell fired a one-hitter despite suffering the loss against Sidney. She recorded 13 strikeouts, while going 2-4 at the plate.
Also for the Cardinal offense, Hailey Blackburn hit a double with two RBI and Frani LeVan went 2-3.
Against Milton-Union, Triad’s offense was only able to record two hits.
Triad travels to West Jefferson today for an Ohio Heritage Conference game.
