Benjamin Logan’s baseball team showcased its hitting power Wednesday as it rolled past host Urbana 11-0 in five innings for a Central Buckeye Conference Mad River division win.
The Raiders move to 7-0 overall and 3-0 in the CBC Mad River as the Hillclimbers drop to 1-3, 0-3.
Ben Logan didn’t waste time finding home plate in the first inning after recording five runs. The Raiders added two runs in the second inning and two more in the third inning for a 9-0 cushion. They tacked on a run in the fourth inning and a run in the fifth to wrap up the scoring.
Austin McGowan powered the Raiders on both sides of the ball Wednesday. Offensively, McGown went 2-3 with two triples and three RBI. He also recorded the win on the mound with five strikeouts and scattered three hits.
Also for the Raiders, Kainan Stoner went 2-3 with a triple and two RBI, Brady Burrey went 2-3 with a double and an RBI, Nolan Roose hit a double, while Carter Rees, Blake Peterson and Dominic Roose each had an RBI. Ben Logan travels to Tecumseh on Friday for a CBC crossover game.

Lakers zap Warriors
Indian Lake’s baseball team found its stride early against host Northwestern Wednesday and picked up a 9-3 victory during Central Buckeye Conference Mad River division play.
The win moves the Lakers to 7-1 overall and 3-0 in the CBC Mad River, while the Warriors fall to 1-4, 0-3.
Indian Lake jumped in front 5-2 after three innings. The Lakers were able to plate four more runs in the top of the fourth inning, while the Warriors managed one run in the bottom of the frame. That gave the Lakers a 9-3 lead.
That score would hold up the rest of the way as Northwestern was unable to get any its offense going.
Offensively for the Lakers, Lane Mefford went 3-3 with two doubles and two RBI, Gavin Lones went 3-4 with two doubles and two RBI, Caleb Wurster went 2-4 with a double and two RBI, Cayden Whitman hit a double and Logan Evans added two RBI.
Isaac Roby went the first six innings to record the win on the mound and had five strikeouts. Indian Lake travels to Jonathan Alder on Friday.

Jon Alder holds off Bellefontaine
Bellefontaine’s baseball team couldn’t catch up to host Jonathan Alder on Tuesday and fell 3-1 in a Central Buckeye Conference Kenton Trail meeting.
The Chieftains slide to 1-4 overall and 0-3 in the CBC KT standings as the Pioneers improve to 5-1, 3-0.
Jon Alder struck early with three runs in the first inning for a 3-0 lead. Bellefontaine’s lone run came in the fourth inning to trail 3-1 and were never able to get any closer the rest of the game.
The Chieftains were only able to record three hits on offense. Alex Caudill had an RBI.
Bellefontaine travels to Urbana on Friday.
