CURRENT |
Nikki Current still has half of her high school basketball career remaining, but is already putting together an impressive haul of awards.
The sensational sophomore guard for Ben Logan was selected to the Division II all-Ohio third team Tuesday.
The Central Buckeye Conference Mad River division player of the year, Current averaged 23 points, 5.3 rebounds, 4 steals and 4 assists per game.
She shot 45 percent from the field and 74 percent at the foul line.
Current scored in double figures in all but one of Ben Logan’s 25 games. She scored 20 or more points in 20 games.
She went over 20 points in each of Ben Logan’s final 10 games of the season.
Current broke the Raiders’ single-game scoring record with 35 points in the season opener against North Union and went on to eclipse that mark with a 37-point performance against Trotwood Madison in the sectional semifinals.
Current powered the Raiders to an outright CBC Mad River division championship and a spot in the Division II sectional final.
