Kenton Ridge’s state-ranked softball team overwhelmed host Benjamin Logan early on Friday and ran away with a 23-4 win in five innings during a Central Buckeye Conference meeting.

The Cougars, who are ranked eighth in the first Division II state poll, are now 12-2 overall and 8-1 in the Kenton Trail standings. The Raiders drop to 8-4 overall and 6-4 in the Mad River division.
“It just wasn’t our night,” said Ben Logan head coach John Stahl. “Kenton Ridge hit the heck out of the ball. Mix in six errors and you have a 23-4 loss.
“We did hit the ball pretty well, but getting down eight runs in the first inning is very tough to come back from. Tomorrow is another day, and hopefully a better one.”
