Benjamin Logan’s baseball team handled host Kenton for a 9-0 victory Saturday in non-league action. The Raiders improve their record to 17-1 on the season.
Ben Logan built a 3-0 lead after three innings. The Raiders drove in two runs in the fourth inning and four more runs in the fifth inning for a 9-0 advantage.
Offensively for the Raiders, Ethan Ricketts went 2-3 with two RBI, Carter Rees went 2-3, Austin McGowan went 2-4, Kainan Stoner had a double with two RBI, Trey Allen had two RBI and Nolan Roose had one RBI.
McGowan recorded the win on the mound with 11 strikeouts. He scattered three hits. Ben Logan hosts North Union today for Central Buckeye Conference play.

Lakers compete in Ft. Loramie Invite
Indian Lake’s baseball team took part in the 28th annual Ft. Loramie Invitational on Saturday.
The Lakers lost in the opening round to the host Redskins 7-0, but the tournament was unable to finish because of rain.
Ft. Loramie jumped on top of Indian Lake 4-0 after three innings. The Redskins drove in a run in the fourth inning and added two more runs in the fifth inning.
The Lakers were limited to three hits in the first game. Dawson Finfrock, Gavin Lones and Trenton Bristow each recorded a hit. Indian Lake hosts Urbana today for a Central Buckeye Conference game.

Russia edges Riverside
Riverside’s baseball team came up short against host Russia on Saturday in a 4-2 non-league loss. The loss drops the Pirates to 6-8.
After three scoreless innings, Russia outscored Riverside 3-1 in the fourth inning. Both teams scored a run in the fifth inning, which kept the Raiders on top 4-2. The Pirates were unable to get any offense going in the final two innings.
Zander Crouch led the Pirates by going 2-3 at the plate, Warren Shockey hit a double with an RBI and Brody Rhoads had an RBI. Riverside travels to Elgin today for Northwest Central Conference action.

Anna downs WL-Salem
WL-Salem’s baseball team allowed visiting Anna to strike early Saturday and pull away for a 6-1 win in non-league play. The Tigers fall to 7-7 on the season.
Anna drove in four runs in the second inning and two runs in the third inning for a quick 6-0 lead.
WL-Salem scored its only run in the fifth inning, but couldn’t get any closer after that.
The Tigers were held to three hits. Payton Knight led the team with a triple, Austin Olejnicak had a hit with an RBI and Nick Burden had a hit. WL-Salem hosts Northeastern today for an Ohio Heritage Conference game.

Tigers fall to Indians
West Liberty-Salem’s baseball team fell to Mechanicsburg 4-1 on Friday in an Ohio Heritage Conference game at Fifth-Third Field in Dayton.
The Tigers scored first with a run in the second inning. That 1-0 score held up until the Indians pulled away with two runs in the sixth inning and two more runs in the seventh inning.
Hayden Phillips led the Tiger offense by going 2-3 with an RBI, while Jamo Legge added a hit.
Mechanicsburg’s Brooks Tom threw a three-hitter for the win. He had 10 strikeouts.

Triad slips past Marysville
Triad’s baseball team battled its way to a 13-10 win over host Marysville on Saturday in a non-league contest. The win improves the Cardinals to 7-5 on the season.
Triad held an 8-5 lead after four innings. The Cardinals plated three runs in the sixth inning and Marysville scored five runs in the bottom of the frame, but now trailed 11-10.
The Cardinals put the game away in the seventh inning with two more runs for a 13-10 lead and held off the Monarchs in the bottom of the frame.
Offensively for the Cardinals, Ayden Spriggs went 4-5 with three RBI, Batai Lease went 3-4 with two RBI, Jared Spors had three RBI, J.C. Alexander hit a double with an RBI and Logan Braun added a double. Blake Boldman picked up the win on the mound with four strikeouts. Triad travels to Mechanicsburg today for an Ohio Heritage Conference game.
