The bread and cup elements of the Last Supper are displayed at the Third Station of the Cross in Quincy United Methodist Church’s Holy Week Prayer Walk that was available to community members for personal contemplation throughout the past week from Monday through Good Friday. The seven stations guiding participants through Jesus’ last week on earth begin with his Triumphal Entry, Jesus Clears the Temple, this Last Supper station in the sanctuary by the pulpit, followed by Jesus’ prayerful time in the Garden of Gethsemane, the Trial of Jesus and Peter’s Denial, The Crucifixion and The Burial. Interactive devotions, readings, crafts and keepsakes were part of the “Journey to the Cross” activity. The Quincy church joins congregations around the county in celebrating Christ’s resurrection Sunday, with an Easter sunrise service at 7:30 a.m. and a regular Easter service at 11 a.m. (EXAMINER PHOTO | MANDY LOEHR)
