Logan County Fair Board members wish to remind junior fair participants that in order to participate in the county fair, animal exhibitors must undergo mandatory quality assurance programs as required by Ohio 4-H.
And they really mean it this time.
Fair board members Wednesday in a regular meeting vowed that any potential junior fair exhibitor who does not participate in a quality assurance training will not be permitted to show the animal at the fair.
The fair board has long made the quality assurance training a prerequisite to show at the fair, but the board has also made multiple exceptions for exhibitors that attend a fair board meeting and plead their case in front of the whole board.
The quality assurance training does not necessarily have to be in Logan County, though four such opportunities are made available. Out-of-county QA certificates are acceptable; so, too, is attendance at the Ohio Beef Expo on March 19 and 20.
