After 15 years at the helm of Triad’s football program, veteran Payton Printz is looking to tackle new challenges.
The jovial, energetic and charismatic leader of the Cardinals recently decided to step down and has accepted a new coaching position as an assistant at Minster, which won a state championship in 2014 and competes in the powerful Midwest Athletic Conference.
“I just felt it was time for a change and a new challenge,” said Printz. “The decision was extremely difficult considering all the relationships I’ve made and all the accomplishments made as Triad’s head coach. I will definitely miss the boys, all the boys, from pee-wee on up to varsity.”
Printz has led Triad’s football program to its most prominent years leaving a lasting legacy, while compiling an 86-72 record. He helped the Cardinals reach the state playoffs five times, including the school’s first ever in 2003.
