Officers of the Bellefontaine Police Department are trying to identify this suspect involved in an 8:15 p.m. Friday incident during which she allegedly stole cash from a donation jar at Dollar General, 308 N. Main St. A store manager told officers the jar was at the checkout counter and the proceeds were intended for a local resident with terminal cancer. The manager provided officers with access to a surveillance video in which the woman asks the clerk to do a price check on an item. After the clerk left to check, the suspect, who officers describe as a white, heavy-set, middle-aged woman with blond hair, reached into the jar and pulled out an estimated $16. She then put the cash in a pants pocket. The suspect eventually completed her purchases with an Ohio Electronic Benefit Transfer card. Individuals with information on the suspect are asked to call Officer Mike Morgan at (937) 599-1010. (PHOTO VIA BELLFONTAINE POLICE DEPARTMENT FACEBOOK)
