Detectives with the Bellefontaine Police Department are investigating a Wednesday theft in Wal-Mart’s parking lot in which two thieves removed a hard top from one vehicle and put it on theirs before driving off.
Surveillance video from the 2281 S. Main St. store shows the suspects pull up to store employee Cynthia Duncan’s 1992 Mazda Miata just before 1 a.m. They got out, removed the hard top from her convertible and put it on theirs.
The Lakeview resident’s loss was estimated at $1,000.

Jessie Michelle Johnson, 19, of 500 Gunntown Road, Apt. F10, was charged Wednesday with menacing.
Around 6 p.m., officers met with Kristi Ordean who told them the suspect threatened to harm her, her husband and her daughters.
The threats allegedly came as part of a dispute between the neighbors regarding the children playing in the hallway of the apartment complex.
