“I’m Afraid I’ll Stutter: A Night of Storytelling, Poetry and Music” is presented at 7 p.m. Saturday, April 30, at the Holland Theatre, to benefit the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
The lineup includes writers Betsy Clark from Columbus and Neil Hilborn from St. Paul, Minn., during the National Poetry Month event, with a special solo performance by David Mayfield of the David Mayfield Parade.
Mr. Hilborn is a College National Poetry Slam champion. In 2013, his poem “OCD” went viral with attention from the Huffington Post, Upworthy, NPR and Gawker, garnering more than 11 million views to date. Ms. Clark has performed as a slam poet nationally and regionally, and was the first runner-up of the poetry showcase at the 2014 Columbus Arts Festival.
Mr. Mayfield is a singer-songwriter, band leader, and Grammy nominated producer who grew up playing the bass and touring with his family’s bluegrass band.
The show is hosted by Bryant T. Dill of West Mansfield, the owner and editor of Some Weird Sin literary magazine, and Firehouse Pizza and Subs. Tickets are $10 each, and will be available online at www.thehollandtheatre.org.
