Riverside’s volleyball team pulled out a five-set win over host Urbana on Tuesday in non-league action.
The Pirates won the first set 25-18, but dropped the next two 20-25, 23-25. They rallied to win the next two sets 25-21, 15-10 to take the match.
The win improves Riverside to 2-0 on the season, while the Hillclimbers fall to 1-1.
Lauryn Sanford sparked the Pirates with 20 kills and 10 blocks, Sierra Snow tallied 23 assists, Jenna Woods posted 14 kills and Allison Knight added 21 digs.
Riverside travels to Ridgemont on Thursday for a local Northwest Central Conference match.
