As the Central Buckeye Conference Mad River division champions, Benjamin Logan’s baseball team claimed multiple honors on the recently released all-league team.
The Raiders, who went 15-1 to win the Mad River crown, had the player of the year and eight first-team selections.
Senior Blake Peterson highlighted the honors for Ben Logan by being named the Mad River division co-player of the year. He shared the honor with Urbana’s Nicholas Weyrich.
The Kenton Trail division player of the year went to Shawnee’s Patrick Fultz.
Earning Mad River division first-team honors for the Raiders were Peterson, Carter Rees, Nolan Roose, Trey Allen, Kade Arn, Kainan Stoner and Brady Burrey. The Raiders’ Austin McGowan earned special mention honors.
Indian Lake had four second-team selections with Trenton Fulkerson, Gavin Lones, Lane Mefford and Caleb Wurster, while Isaac Roby was named to the special mention list.
Bellefontaine had three players earn all-league honors in the Kenton Trail division. Alex Caudill and Markus Burgler both earned second-team spots, while Cole Comstock took home a special mention award.
Local players earning sportsmanship awards were the Raiders’ Tanner Perkins, the Lakers’ Brandon Villa and the Chiefs’ Alex Pulfer.
Rounding out the remaining Mad River first-team spots were Urbana’s Weyrich, Graham’s Garrett Dunham and North Union’s Trevyn Feasel.
Others earning spots on the Mad River second team were Graham’s Ben Sells and Eli Hollingsworth, Northwestern’s Brayden Grimm and Eric Impson and Urbana’s William Donahoe and Jonathan Hildebrand.
The rest of the MR special mention list included Graham’s Eli Martin, Northwestern’s Colton Dunkelberg, North Union’s Grayson Beeney and Urbana’s Wyatt Teets.
Making up the Kenton Trail first-team squad were Kenton Ridge’s Matt Wichael, Logan Fyffe, Justin Maurer and Caleb Obee, Shawnee’s Fultz and Nick Whalen, Tecumseh’s Noah Cassell and Seth Hale and Jonathan Alder’s J.T. Keith and Chase Maynard.
Filling out the Kenton Trail second-team list were Shawnee’s Luke Myers and Zac Spitzer, Jonathan Alder’s Jackson Bennett and Hank Shoemaker, Tecumseh’s Tyler Dysinger and Cy Baisden and London’s Derek Moore, Jacob Payne and Logan Minner.
The rest of the KT special mention list included Jonathan Alder’s Alec Shrock, Kenton Ridge’s Jordan Fent, London’s Aiden McCoy, Shawnee’s Michael Moore and Tecumseh’s Jackson Berner.
