Peggy Arlene Ramsey Amerine, age 83, of Marysville, died Monday, Jan. 4, 2021, at Hilliard Assisted Living following a long struggle with dementia.
A homemaker, she was a graduate of Rushsylvania High School. Peggy was a member of Marysville First United Methodist Church where she served as a den mother for her sons in the cub scouts. She also was a charter member of OCCL Marysville Mother’s Study. An avid reader, she enjoyed crocheting and cooking.
She and her late husband, Jim, were members of The Village Squares square dancing club. They also loved to travel together where they camped throughout the United States and wintered in Florida and South Texas. Above all, she was a loving and devoted wife, mother and “granny.”
She was born May 5, 1937 in Rushsylvania, to the late Donald and Ellen Johns Ramsey. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, James “Jim” D. Amerine in 2016; and a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Thomas and Delma Amerine.
Peggy is survived by two sons, David (Karen) Amerine of Hilliard and Glenn (Annette) Amerine of Grove City; two grandsons, Bryan (Amanda) Amerine and Jason (Maggie) Amerine; two great-grandsons, Carter and Cole Amerine; three nephews, Thomas, Bill and Bob Amerine; a niece, Roseann Miller; and many other relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to noon on Wednesday, Jan. 20, at Underwood Funeral Home. Private services with burial at Oakdale Cemetery will be conducted.
