Mathia Yancey, 28 of Lakeview, was charged with felony tampering with evidence and possession of drug as a result of a traffic stop Wednesday, Nov. 9.
Officers of the Washington Township Police Department conducted the stop about 9 p.m. on a vehicle in the area of County Road 91 and County Road 54 after observing the vehicle sitting in the middle of the roadway without any headlights on.
Upon making contact with the occupants, officers observed the front seat passenger, Yancey, appeared to have an item concealed in her mouth.
Officers advised her to open her mouth to see what she was concealing and observed a clear plastic bag falling out of her mouth. The bag was recovered and was found to contain methamphetamine.
Yancey was taken into custody and transported to the Logan County Jail.
The Logan County Sheriff’s Office assisted at the scene.
