Stephen J. Rimmer, 64, and Abigail K. Rimmer, 50, both of Wapakoneta, each were charged with domestic violence related to an incident Saturday evening.
Deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched about 11:50 p.m. to a domestic violence dispute in the area of Logan’s Landing, 11195 Township Road 293, Lakeview.
Upon arrival, deputies said Ms. Rimmer was yelling that she wanted to get away from Mr. Rimmer and that she did not feel safe. Deputies observed that she showed signs of being under the influence of alcohol and she appeared to have difficulty answering their questions.
She told deputies that the pair had been out drinking that evening and then went back to their camper at Logan’s Landing. She said he had put his hands on her throat. Deputies did not observe any marks on her throat.
While talking with Mr. Rimmer, deputies found that he had numerous scratches on his arms. He told deputies that Ms. Rimmer had attempted to leave their camper. He said he didn’t want her to because of her level of impairment, so he told deputies he held her down on the bed to prevent her from leaving. He admitted to making her nose bleed during the altercation.
Deputies could not determine a primary aggressor in the situation and both parties were arrested and transported to the Logan County Jail.
