MARYSVILLE – Troopers of the Ohio State Highway Patrol announced Friday that an OVI checkpoint will be conducted in Logan County Saturday evening.
The location of the checkpoint will be announced Saturday morning.
The OVI checkpoint, funded by federal grant funds, are planned to deter and intercept impaired drivers.
“Based on the provisional data, there were 637 OVI related fatal crashes in which 685 people were killed during 2020 in Ohio,” Marysville Post Commander Lt. Shawn Cook said.
“State troopers make an average of 20,000 OVI arrests each year in an attempt to combat these dangerous drivers. OVI checkpoints are designed to not only deter impaired driving, but to proactively remove these dangerous drivers from our roadway.”
