Orie Richards, 80 of DeGraff, Ohio passed away peacefully at his home May 21, 2020.
He was born Dec. 23, 1939, in Lockney, West Virginia, to the late Zella and Derea Richards.
Survivors include his loving wife of 31 years, Lola Richards; children, Derea Maloy, Brian (Holly) Popa, Bob (Mel) Popa, Brad (Steph) Popa, Heidi (Alan) Pelfrey, Heather (Kirk) Popa; brother, Rolland Richards; sister, Jenny Belt; and twin sister, Nora McIntyre; 12 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
An active member at the Mt. Tabor Church of God, Orie is now a member of the eternal congregation. He was a Veteran of the United States Navy.
Orie and Lola loved dreaming and working together to turn their dreams into their beautiful home. An excellent carpenter, Orie loved creating and joked he only made what the voices in his wife’s head told him to do.
He had a special place in his heart for daily playing his guitar and singing. He enjoyed spending Monday nights playing dominoes with friends and could quickly add in his head his score, and his neighbor’s score.
Above all, Orie’s greatest desire was to be a good Christian example, and to faithfully attend church services when the doors were open. His caring and compassionate personality will be missed by all.
