Jack H. Fox II, 53, of 1702 S. County Road 32, was arrested on two warrants for failure to appear after a rollover crash at 9:50 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 4, in the 200 block of Organ Street, officers of the Bellefontaine Police Department report.
Fox was removed from the cab of a pickup truck as he was rummaging through contents inside.
A Bellefontaine squad transported him to Mary Rutan Hospital for treatment of injuries.
After initial treatment, officers spoke with him and he acknowledged his pickup hit a parked car as he turned from Eastern Avenue.
He was medically cleared, taken into custody on the warrants and lodged in the Logan County Jail.
• Devan M. Driscol, 27, of Bellefontaine, was transported by a Bellefontaine squad to MRH after a two-vehicle crash Thursday, Dec. 1.
He was driving an eastbound car that hit the rear of a tractor-trailer on Sandusky Avenue at Main Street.
Damage was heavy to the car and light to semi operated by Russell E. Yocum, 59, of Cable. Driscol sustained minor injuries and was issued a traffic citation for failure to maintain assured clear distance ahead.
• Michael L. Brady, 71, of Bellefontaine, was issued a traffic citation for ACDA after a 4:25 p.m. Nov. 28 injury crash on Sandusky Avenue at Hayes Street.
He was eastbound in a car behind a stopped van operated by Sheila S. Ricks, 61, of Bellefontaine. Brady told officers his foot slipped off the brake pedal which led to the crash.
Ricks was taken by private vehicle to MRH for treatment of possible injuries.
Damage was light to the vehicles.
Motorist charged with OVI
Sean M. Rollins, 38, of 302 W. Sandusky Ave., was charged Thursday, Dec. 1, with operating a vehicle while under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs after a 10:55 p.m. traffic stop.
Officers were alerted to Rollins after another motorist reported the suspect had disregarded red lights and stop signs in attempts to catch up with the witness and force him off the road.
Rollins was located outside the pickup as it was stopped in traffic on Columbus Avenue at Madriver Street. He had his arms in the air and was stumbling back into the pickup.
An officer activated his cruiser’s overhead lights to stop Rollins after he turned northbound on Madriver but the suspect ignored the lights until after turning east on Sandusky Avenue.
Other officers arrived on scene and Rollins was instructed to exit the pickup. His speech was thick, officers report, and his eyes were bloodshot and glossy. An odor of alcohol was detected while talking with him.
Field sobriety tests indicated he was under the influence of alcohol and his breathalyzer sample was recorded at 0.225.
He was released to a sober driver.
Teen claims man threatened to shoot him
Rush W. Eichholtz, 58, of 601 N. Madriver St., was arrested Saturday, Dec. 3, for aggravated menacing.
He allegedly confronted a 13-year-old boy on a bicycle in the neighborhood and told the boy he had a gun and was going to shoot the teen.
Officers met with Eichholtz at his house and he invited them inside. He then called out to his wife to get his gun claiming he did not know who they were.
He was arrested and lodged in jail. A 9 mm handgun was located on a kitchen table and seized for safekeeping.
Other recent arrests
Terrance T. Cooper, 38, of Springfield, was charged Sunday, Dec. 4, with criminal trespassing and possession of marijuana.
He allegedly tried to enter the Beer Vault, 149 W. Columbus Ave., around 1:15 a.m. He previously was kicked out of the bar and told not to return.
Cooper was located in a nearby parking lot and taken into custody. Prior to his transport to jail, he told officers he had a small amount of marijuana in a coat pocket.
• Wesley W. Bickle, 60, of 3796 Harrison Road, was charged Friday, Dec. 2, with public intoxication and having an open container of alcohol.
Around 1 p.m., he walked into a hair salon at Highland Hills shopping plaza, 884 E. Sandusky Ave., looking for his sister.
He became belligerent and verbally abusive when he was told his sister was not in the business.
He was lodged in jail.
• Evan W. Crabtree, 29, of Bellefontaine, was charged Nov. 24 with criminal trespassing and public intoxication.
He reportedly entered a home in the 500 block of west Columbus Avenue shortly before 1:35 a.m. He exited and was found in a car parked along the street.
He admitted to entering the residence by mistake.
Crabtree was lodged in jail.
• Damon Lensman, 46, at large, was charged Nov. 25 with possession of crack cocaine and possession of drug paraphernalia and taken into custody on a felony parole violation.
He was observed at 6:55 p.m. and stopped on Sloan Boulevard at County Road 55.
Crack cocaine was found in the center console and a pipe for abusing the drug was found in Lensman’s clothing.
He was lodged in jail.
