Frederick L. “Fritz” Howell, 89, of Russells Point, passed away Sunday, May 13, 2018, in the ary Rutan Hospital Emergency Department, Bellefontaine.
Fritz was born Dec. 25, 1928, in Lima, a son of the late Roy and Ruth Brodbeck Howell. He also was preceded in death by a brother, William Howell, and a nephew, Kyle Howell.
Fritz is survived by a sister, Patty Howell of Russells Point, and nieces and nephews.
Fritz was a 1946 graduate of Washington Township Local School. He formerly owned and operated Tick Tock Restaurant and retired from DP&L after 28 years of service. He was a member of Indian Lake Community Church, Indian Lake Masonic Lodge 722 in Lakeview, where he was a past master, Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 459 in Bellefontaine, and Scottish Rite Valley of Dayton. Fritz was a former pilot and enjoyed gardening, playing cards and baking and was known for his coconut cream pies and Danish rolls.
The Revs. Jim Ellington and Karen Blackburn begin funeral services at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 17, at Indian Lake Community Church, 120 Orchard Island Road, Russells Point. Visitation is 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, May 16, with Masonic service at 6:45 p.m. at Shoffstall Funeral Home, 205 S. Main St., Lakeview, and one hour prior to services at the church. Burial is in Huntsville Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Growing God’s Kingdom, c/o Indian Lake Community Church.
