Donald Trent Sr., 73, of Bellefontaine, passed away peacefully at 4:57 a.m. Sunday, April 8, 2018, at his home surrounded by his loving family.
He was born in Waverly on Aug. 19, 1944, to the late Charles Edward Trent and Gladys Mildred Reisinger Trent. Donald was blessed to be married to Linda K. Keels for 46 years.
He is also survived by a daughter, Teresa (Craig) Clark; a son, Donald Trent II; four grandchildren, Shemar, Donald III, Cameo and Vincent; five sisters, Viola Howard of Columbus, Lucy (Bill) Moss, Diane Hill and Sue Porter, all of Urbana, and Nancy Smith of Springfield; three brothers, Richard (Dawn) Trent and Doug Trent, both of Urbana, and Danny (Ann) Trent of Hilliard; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by four brothers, Kenny, Jerry, Charles and Dallas Trent; and two sisters, Ethel and Mazel Trent.
Donald had a few close friends with whom he enjoyed spending time, including Eddie (Gwen) Johnson, Van Johnson, Calvin Davis, Jerry Lyburtus and Bruce Wilson. He also enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, bowling, fishing and being outside with his friends.
Anyone who knew Don knew he loved to play his lottery tickets.
Donald served in the armed services. He worked several years at Westinghouse and Tri-County Weatherization.
A funeral service begins at 6 p.m. Thursday, April 12, at Jennings Farley & Seeley Funeral Home & Crematory, 5591 S. U.S. Route 68, West Liberty, where visitation begins at 4 p.m.
