Carol A. Shoemaker Foughty, 60, of Rushsylvania, passed away Saturday, Jan. 13, 2018, at Wexner Medical Center in Columbus.
She was born June 14, 1957, in Bellefontaine, the daughter of the late Claude and Hester Shoemaker.
She was a 1975 graduate of Benjamin Logan High School and Lima Tech/Rhodes State where she earned an associate degree in accounting. She attended Goshen Friends Church in Zanesfield and was employed by lumenomics, formerly Inside Outfitters, for 10 years. Carol enjoyed her church, scrapbooking, antiques, crafting and Minions. She enjoyed volunteering for Pan-Ohio Hope Ride, with the American Cancer Society. She was known for her lasagna and carrot cake.
Survivors include her husband, David L. Foughty, whom she married July 7, 2006; son, Pat (Betsy) Price; brother, Robert (Darla) Shoemaker; stepsons, Jeremiah (Laurie) Foughty, John (Laura) Foughty, Jonah Foughty and Timothy Foughty; former daughter-in-law, Tonya (James) Anderson; grandchildren, Bryant Newman, Emma Newman, Hunter Lee, Dakota Price, Skyler Price, Haley Anderson, Hannah Anderson, Mylez Anderson and Amalia Foughty; and great-grandchildren, Lincoln Newman and Eleanor Newman.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, James Craft.
Pastor Wayne Downing officiates a memorial service at noon Friday, Jan. 19, at the Goshen Friends Church. 5527 County Road 153, Zanesfield, where calling begins at 10 a.m.
