Benard H. Jeffers, 90, of Lewistown, passed away Sunday, April 12, 2015, at his residence.
He was born Oct. 27, 1924, in Creston, a son of the late Albert E. and Jessie Hoopes Jeffers. He also was preceded in death by brothers and sisters, Wanda Pyers, Jessie Winkler, Selma Royer, Wendell Jeffers, Hilda Ferguson, Emma Larsen and Sylvia Rosemary Steele Jeffers.
Survivors include his wife, Ivaleen (Steele) Jeffers; sons, Bert Jeffers and Steve (Susanne) Jeffers; daughter, Shirley (Guy) Jackson; sister, Ruth Pekar; grandchildren, Jeffery Allen Jackson, Kevin Michael Jackson, Julie E. Davis, Kristen Call, Mike Jeffers, Molly Michalak and Meggan Maginnis; and great-grandchildren, Joel, Brandon, Brock Jackson, Aubrey, Kelsey and Blake Jackson.
Mr. Jeffers was retired from farming, as well as driving school bus for North Central Schools. He was a U.S. Army Air Force veteran serving during World War II and Korea.
Pastor Nathan Price officiates a funeral at noon Saturday April 18, at Mt. Tabor Church of God, 8113 County Road 13, DeGraff, where visitation begins at 10 a.m. Interment is in Huntsville Cemetery.
