Don R. Carpenter, 75, of Gambier, and formerly of DeGraff, passed away at 11:15 p.m. Thursday, March 12, 2015, at the OSU Ross Heart Hospital, Columbus.
He was born in Logan County on June 24, 1939, to the late Don Travers and Viola Mae Hinkle Carpenter Hazlegrove.
Don is survived by his two children, Holly Couch of Ottumwa, Iowa, and Todd (Monica) Carpenter of St. Louisville; four grandchildren, Katie Couch, Scott Couch, Calob Carpenter and Cameron Carpenter; two sisters, Karen Sue (Paul) Carpenter Staley of Saline, Mich., and Jo Ann (Buford) Carpenter Adams of Rangely, Colo.; and several nieces and nephews.
Don was a retired systems analyst from Cooper Energy Services in Mount Vernon. A U.S. Navy veteran, he enjoyed traveling, photography and working with electronics.
Pastor Bryan Meadows officiates a funeral at 1 p.m. Tuesday, March 17, at the Daring & Sanford Funeral Home, 210 W. Hayes St., DeGraff, where visitation is two hours prior. Burial is in Cedar Point Cemetery in Pasco.
