Daniel “Dan or Danny” Lee King, 70, died Tuesday, March 10, 2015, in the James A. Haley Veterans’ Hospital in Tampa, Florida after a 10-year battle with cancer.
He was born Nov. 9, 1944, in Bellefontaine, a son of the late Winfred and Marie King. He graduated from West Liberty-Salem in 1962 and received an undergraduate degree from The Oho State University and a graduate degree from Bowling Green State University. He moved to Tampa in his 30s and was most recently a landlord of several apartments.
An Army veteran, avid Buckeye fan and golfer, he spent his later years sailing the globe with his buddies to islands most can only dream about. He was also a fair fisherman and good hunter.
Survivors include a brother, Jay (Kathy) King of West Liberty, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He also was preceded in death by a brother, Joe King.
Some family members and friends will share a meal together in Tampa to reminisce about the good times.
