Martha E. Skidmore, 93, formerly of Belle Center, passed away Monday evening, March 2, 2015, at Hardin Hills Health Center, Kenton.
Martha was born in Belle Center on Dec. 26, 1921, to the late Clarence and Blanche Webber Lowery.
On Feb. 20, 1946, she married James Kenneth Skidmore in Belle Center and he preceded her in death April 15, 1993. Martha also was preceded in death by a son, Clifford Skidmore, on July 7, 2013; three brothers, Curt Lowery, Vaughn Lowery and Bob Lowery; and three sisters, Viola Bullock, Esther Woodruff and Lucille Lowery.
Martha is survived by her son, Edwin (Charlotte) Skidmore of Dunkirk; daughter-in-law, Rita Skidmore of Bellefontaine; five grandchildren, Michael Skidmore, Lisa Skidmore, Eric Wills, Doug Wills and Bobby Gill; five great-grandchildren, Chaise Wills, Danielle Wills, Lydia Wills, Brett Wills and Jamie Gill; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A homemaker, Martha was a member of the Belle Center United Methodist Church. She enjoyed being around people and spending time with her grandkids.
Pastor Kevin Smith officiates a funeral at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 5, at the Belle Center United Methodist Church, where visitation is two hours prior. Burial is in Fairview Cemetery, Belle Center.
Memorial contributions may be made to the charities of the donors’ choices.
