John McMackin, 80, of Bellefontaine, passed away Sunday evening, Feb. 15, 2015, at Green Hills Retirement Community. He was born in Oceanside, N.Y., on June 21, 1934, to the late John J. and Grace G. Hose McMackin.
John is survived by his wife, Margie L. Brunson McMackin, whom he married Feb. 14, 2005; sons, Juan McMackin of Hilliard and John Kevin (Debbie) McMackin and William (Retha) McMackin, both of New York; daughters, Darie McMackin and Patricia (Colin) Pilkington, both of New York; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a sister, Meredith Hollister of New York.
A U.S. Air Force veteran and former member of the Air National Guard, John had a strong passion for being a pilot and had more than 24 years of service to his country. He retired as the owner and operator of McMackin’s Productivity Management.
John was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church.
Visitation is from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 19, at the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home, Bellefontaine. Father Patrick Sheridan celebrates a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 20, at St. Patrick Catholic Church. Burial is at a later date in Huntsville Cemetery.
