D. Geraldine “Jerry” Lotz, 93, of Kenton, passed away at 2:08 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 14, 2015, at Hardin Memorial Hospital.
She was born Feb. 26, 1921, to the late Max Emerson and Luella Summers McCullough.
On June 8, 1940, she married Oscar William Lotz and he preceded her in death April 30, 2001. She also was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Judy Marie Lotz; a brother, Clifford McCullough; and three sisters, Leona Robinson, Avis Johnson and Bertha Gillfillan.
Jerry is survived by two children, Thomas (Grace) Lotz of Kenton and Beverly Mentzer of Bellefontaine; five grandchildren, Tracey Seiler, Richard Dunson, Tim (Tammy) Lotz, Dale (Nichole) Dunson and Reese Mentzer; five great-grandchildren, Amanda Lotz, Layne Mentzer, Skylar Lotz, Connor Mentzer and Theron Gammon; sister, Eileen (Clair) Latham of Kenton; and brother, Phillip McCullough of Kenton.
Since 1940, Jerry was a member of St. John’s United Church of Christ, where she also participated in the Miriam Circle. She and her husband were very active in the Friendship Grange from 1957. Her membership then moved to the Goshen Grange, where she still was a member.
Their life was lived around Grange as she was a county, state and national member, as well as serving as a County Junior Deputy for 10 years.
She will be fondly remembered as a wonderful cook.
Pastor Scott Johnson officiates a funeral at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 17, at Schindewolf-Stout-Crates Funeral Home, Kenton, where visitation is two hours prior. Burial is in Grove Cemetery.
