Leah K. Cook, 93, of West Liberty, passed away Friday morning, Jan. 23, 2015, at Mary Rutan Hospital.
She was born in Columbus on Feb. 24, 1921, to the late Holmes M. and Reva L. Loffer Kress.
On May 23, 1942, she married Richard W. Cook in Bellefontaine and he preceded her in death May 6, 2005. Leah also was preceded in death by a son, Gary M. Cook, on April 25, 2003; sisters, Ruth Haustein and Mildred Ballinger; and a brother, Merlin Kress.
Leah is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Brian (Janet) Cook of Mt. Vernon, Richard (Susan) Cook of Tampa, Fla., and Kaye Cook of Bellefontaine; seven grandchildren, Vicki (Van) Harvey, Shannon (Jim) Berner, Ty (Carrie) Cook, Anne (Chad) DaHinden, Aaron (Christina) Cook, Nathan Cook and Sarah Cook; 15 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Miriam Wynn of Elida; and several nieces and nephews.
A 1939 graduate of Bellefontaine High School, Leah was a homemaker and a lifetime member of the First United Methodist Church, Bellefontaine.
Pastor Cheryl Siegenthaler officiates a memorial service at 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 8, at the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home, Bellefontaine. Burial is at a later date in Bellefontaine Cemetery.
