Robert L. “Pup” “Joe” McColloch Jr., 65, of East Liberty, passed away peacefully Sunday afternoon, Dec. 2, 2018, at his residence surrounded by his loving family.
He enjoyed drag racing, tractor pulling, going to car shows, collecting cars and tractors, and traveling on his Harley-Davidson, but he truly loved spending time with his family, especially attending all of the activities he could of his grandchildren and his nieces and nephews.
A 1971 graduate of Benjamin Logan High School, he was a lifelong farmer and also worked as a construction inspector for the Ohio Department of Transportation for 30 years. He was a life member of the national H.O.G. Association, member of H.O.G. Motorsports of Plain City since 1985, founding member of the Central Ohio Antique Tractor Pullers Association, member of the Ohio State Antique Tractor Pullers Association, the Logan County Antique Power Association, a proud member of the Democratic Party and a volunteer member of the Perry Township Fire Department.
Born Oct. 3, 1953, in Bellefontaine, he was a son of the late Robert L. Sr. and Beulah M. Lucas McColloch. He also was preceded in death by a sister, Monna Coles.
He is survived by his companion in life for 36 years, Sandy Wilcox of East Liberty; a daughter, Jessica (J.D.) Gibson of East Liberty; grandchildren, Kane and Kaelin Gibson; brothers and sister, John P. (Cindy) McColloch of East Liberty, Catheryn N. (Jim Smith) Whitmore of Lakeview and John E. (Marilyn) Coles of Lorain; nieces and nephews, Johnny (Rhonda) Coles, Michael (Kim) Coles, David (Shanel) Henry, Cara (Judson) Murray, Jean (David Brunke) Reames and Rebecca McColloch; great- nieces and nephews, John-Michael, Angel, Dylan and Dalton Coles, Mason Coles, Morgan and Camden Henry, Neve Murray and Conner and Xavier Reames; along with numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Calling is from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 6, at Wilson Funeral Home, Schnurrenberger Chapel 222 W. Center St., West Mansfield, where funeral services begin at 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 7. The Rev. Linda Dulin-Moore officiates and burial follows in East Liberty Cemetery.
