Gary Alan Homan, 71, of Bellefontaine, passed away Thursday, Nov. 29, 2018, at his residence surrounded by his family.
Gary was born Dec. 26, 1946, to the late John C. and Marjorie Helen Miller Homan. Gary was raised by Thomas C. Roll and his mother in Bellefontaine. On Sept. 26, 1969, in Springhills, he married the love of his life, Barbara Ann Lattimer, and she survives.
Gary graduated from Bellefontaine High School in 1965. He was a United States Marine Corps veteran who served in the Vietnam War. Gary later worked for the railroad for 40 years. He enjoyed riding his Harleys and taking trips on the bike. He was an avid Chicago Cubs and Ohio State Buckeye fan. Gary was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
He also is survived by sons, John C. (Molly) Homan and Justin A. (Amy) Homan; grandchildren, Jerry A. Homan, Violet S. Homan and Bailey (Kelsey) Held; siblings, Robert F. Roll, Luann (Bill) Troyer and Nancy B. (Shannon) Sheeley; and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday, Dec. 3, at Jennings Farley & Seeley Funeral Home & Crematory, following visitation that begins at 11 a.m. Burial is in Springhills Cemetery at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
